Endeavour is committed to doing business responsibly and helping support the community we live and work in.

How we make our profit is just as important as what we do with it. That’s why, in addition to providing philanthropic support, we’re equally dedicated to improving how we work and who we work with:

Responsible Suppliers

We aim to work with ethical suppliers who actively demonstrate a commitment to managing their environmental footprint and setting socially responsible workplace standards. As part of this, we drink only Fairtrade coffee and are able to responsibly recycle most of our office waste. The majority of our suppliers already have in place their own CSR campaigns and initiatives, and many are ISO certified.

Transparent Trading

An essential element of being a responsible business is honest and transparent trading, and we recognise that ethical trade is not a one-way activity.

When dealing with our suppliers we aim to cut out the middle man and develop long-term, direct relationships. We also try to use local suppliers as much as possible, thereby supporting our local community and reducing carbon emissions from deliveries.

Supporting Staff

Annual Young Professionals’ Internship Scheme – We provide recent graduates with opportunities within the Mining Finance sector.

We also recognise the value in investing in our staff and actively encourage all employees to attend training and development courses that are suited to both their interests and their role.

In addition to being regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, a number of staff are also members of accredited organisations including the Institute of Directors which promote responsible business practice and setting the highest standards in professionalism and conduct.

Travelling Green

Building meaningful relationships is an essential part of the way we do business. This means it is often necessary for us to visit our clients personally, many of whom are based internationally. To help reduce our carbon footprint, we aim to combine meetings with various clients into one trip, and regularly review the need and frequency of travel to conferences and networking opportunities. We’ve also recently been out with the shovels and spades, planting a collection of trees to help play our part in reducing our carbon emissions.

As part of our on-going commitment, we are always looking at new and innovative ways to continue reducing our impact on the environment from business travel, such as using eco-friendly airlines, fuel-efficient aircraft and booking sustainble hotels where possible.

Our Community

  • Cranfield Regatta 2018

We were pleased to sponsor Clemens Mieth from the Endeavour team in the 2018 Cranfield MBA Regatta. The Regatta is a series of sailing races held on the Solent off the South Coast of England and provides a great opportunity for students and alumni of the world’s top business schools to meet, network and compete in “Matched” F40 racing yachts. It allows MBA students to meet their peers from other leading business schools and put into practice the leadership and organisational skills they have developed.

  • Three-Race Challenge

Our very own George Pyper marked his tenth anniversary of beating cancer by undertaking a three-stage challenge over three weeks in Autumn 2015: two 10km obstacle/mud trial races and an Olympic Triathlon, raising money for cancer charities in the UK, the USA and Canada.

  • Benenden Charity Cycle

We sponsored three members of staff from Benenden School to cycle 750km across India in just eight days, raising money for El Shaddai Charitable Trust working in Goa and other States of India providing care, food, clothing, education and shelter to orphans and underprivileged children.

  • Denver Food Rescue Ride

We are proud to be a regular sponsor of client Doug Tobler’s annual participation in Denver’s Food Rescue Ride. In 2016, they rescued and re-distributed over 320,000 lbs of produce using bikes and trailers. Over 13,000 people in Denver's lower income neighbourhoods benefited from this program.

  • Ride to Conquer Cancer

Former colleague Doug Reddy took part in the Ride to Conquer Cancer event for his fifth year in 2015, which we were proud to sponsor. The ride benefits the BC Cancer Foundation, supporting research, treatment and services. Doug raised almost $5,300 and the 2,000+ riders raised a total of $8.4 million.

  • Rhino Charge

This year we were proud to sponsor Car 63 in the Rhino Charge, an annual off-road motorsport competition that has been held in Kenya since 1989. The event, organized by The Rhino Ark Charitable Trust, is held to raise funds for a very noble cause – conservation projects across Kenya, including the world-renowned Aberdare Electric Fence Project. This fence plays an instrumental role in protecting wildlife especially the critically endangered black rhino and bongo antelope. Rhino Ark’s work has evolved and expanded to include support for various community-based conservation initiatives such as the Bongo Surveillance Programme designed to offer long-term solutions to the conservation of mountain forest ecosystems. This year the event raised £1.25 Million for The Rhino Ark Charitable Trust. More information regarding the charity’s work can be found here: http://rhinoark.org/home/
